Thanks satman! When you do the tests, make sure your TV's CC is turned on to CC1 and enabled before you do the tests. -BJ

Its not my thread, its our thread, all of us! I wont be able to test that cc feature anytime soon, very busy the next few days so please do that satman5k if its not too much trouble. But, i have been playing some more with this Linkbox 8000 HD and i am liking it. Scanned several sats today including Galaxy 14 C Band, and AMC 21 Ku and it scans great. A little slow on Ku but nothing to complain about, still pretty quick. One thing i found i thought was great is that it also has a RF INPUT connection. This is great to have. For example. I have the Linkbox connected in my garage right now to an old tv, only has coax connector in on it. No HDMI, RCA etc.. So with the RF Output this box is great for connecting to this tv. What i did today is connect my digital converter box for OTA to the RF Input on the Linkbox, and when i shut down the Linkbox is passes my OTA through to the TV down the one coax line. Shut off the OTA, power up the Linkbox and i have sat. Perfect for this set-up.

Sorry BJ. Didn't get to the cc testing. Very busy day. Had to make a trip today for some radio repair parts. On the good side, I did get my 4 footer prime focus cband back on the roof. Will try and get the testing done soon. I do agree with Hyper. I like this new box more every day

Question: when ya'll have scanned the satellites, does the Linkbox do both horizontal and vertical at the same time or do you have the option to scan just horizontal then scan vertical separately?
My preference is separately. My Sonicview scans separately, but my S10 does not.

Hi FTA Patriot, to answer your question, in the scan menu it does not give you the option to scan V and H seperately, it does them both in one scan, no option to change that. Only way around that i think would be to have 2 seperate sat entires for each sat in the antenna set-up menu. There you can set the polarity V or H. Then scan each one. Once set-up it would work good, but the pain would be it would fill up the sat list pretty fast. It would be nice to have the V and H seperate in the blind scan menu. Especially for those who use a polarotor.

Also you can ask Costa about this receiver, he has being testing it since October if not mistaken, I am not saying he will give you a different answer than what Hyper told you, but any other questions he might know since he has being testing this receiver for a couple of months now. Turbo

There are no stupid questions, only stupid that don't ask. Author Anonymous Testing: SkyBox S12, Sats: 30w, 40.5w, 58w C and KU, on 4 fixed dishes and 4 more waiting to be installed. Working on a Polar mount for offsetdish mod by me inspired by Costa.

Is this receiver similar to the Pansat 9500 in that you can push OK button and then hit the left or right arrow and it will pull up the separate satellite lists without causing the dish to move. All my other receivers except the Pansat will cause the dish to move when going through the satellite channel lists. Also, anybody know when the skew control kits will become available for this unit?
