DISH Network and NagraStar Sue Robert Bebout (aka “BigPineGuy”) and xxx.newgeniks.info in Michigan Federal Court for Piracy Claims



On April 19, 2012 DISH Network L.L.C., EchoStar Technologies L.L.C. and NagraStar LLC (collectively “DISH Network”) filed suit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan against Robert Bebout (aka “BigPineGuy”) and the website

.  DISH Network’s claims in the litigation arise out of the operation of the newgeniks website and include federal statutory violations alleged under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and Federal Communications Act.  Bebout was personally served with a copy of the complaint and summons on April 23, 2012.  The case has been assigned to the Honorable Marianne O. Battani with case number 2:12-cv-11745-MOB-PJK.  DISH Network continues to investigate the involvement of other individuals in the newgeniks website.
