Here is a website discussing the scheduled change from AMC-1 to SES-3 at 103 West.
Code:
http://microspace.com/satellites/satellite-transition
Polarization will be normal after the change.  They say signal strength will increase also.
This is the satellite that has Cozi TV

Thanks for the link logically.

Just read it through.

Looks like Aug 24th is when the change will occur.

Looking forward to it.

So once again the FCC is getting in the way, dragging their feet.

It's actually DirecTV that's blocking this. Apparently THEY own the "rights" to be the only broadcasters from that position 103 for the Ka band. Unfortunately for us, SES3 also has Ka band capability, along with Ku and C-band...

So, unless the FCC changes the rules, DirecTV gets paid off, or another sat gets sent up that doesn't have Ka broadcast ability, I don't think this will ever happen with SES3 anyway.

Seems like a little "overkill" for Direct.  They have 3 sats in that position out of the 6 that are there.  What if SES-3 moves to 101w?   Just a thought.  Jess out in California

What sat is DTV using at 102w? In looking at the specs for the swm-3, it lists sats 99,101, and 103. So I don't see what the problem is. They are using a sat at 103w, so who owns it? I thought the SES-3 was to replace AMC-1.  Leaves me just a little confusedl..........sdaasd..s.......   E_V
