Trimax Waterlocks Review

A couple weeks ago we had a forum member ask about weatherfroof connectors and we starting discussing waterlocks. Here is this thread:

http://legalfreetoair.com/index.php?topic=1268.0

Since we had some good interest in the waterlocks we asked DMS for a couple of samples and we did a review. Here it is:

OK Folks. I have tested these waterlocks out on a bunch of different connectors and they came out pretty good.

These Trimax Waterlocks from DMS have a hard plastic shell, and the inside is a soft almost sticky silicon rubber material that forms around the coax connector keeping it clean and dry. Plus, if you need to take it off, just un-snap it and it comes off clean and ready to be re-used. I of course did this over on over on my 2 test samples.

First thing I found is that they work great on Regular RG6 with Hex Crimp type connectors. They close right over the coax connector quite easily and make a good watertight seal. I tried various coax and connector i had laying aroun here.

Next, on compression connectors they can be used. I tested it with Thomas and Betts and Ridgeloc 360 models, both on thick CATV 18 RG6 Coax. The compression connectors are quite a bit larger than hex connectors. To use the waterlock with these you have to snap it closed on just the coax and slide it up over the connector. Its a little bit difficult but it will work, at least with the connectors i carry.

Now that said, you really shouldnt need these with any of the good compression connectors out there. The ones we sell are all fully SCTE water tested. But i suppose if you want the extra protection, the waterlocks will provide you that.

For anyone with hex crimp type connectors I would highly recommend this product!

End Review

We have decided to carry this product so for anyone that is interested you can purchase here:

My son Evan, taken from his family and friends, hit by a truck on March 26, 2010 at the age of 15, 3 days after his birthday. We love you and miss you Evan. We will see you again soon in heaven. I miss you son. You were the best son a dad could have. I am so proud of you. Save a place for me.
