It all began for me with a fixed Hotdish75 on 97W.

Using 1 0/22KHz Switch to

1 4x1 DiSEqC Switch to have 4 KU LNBs on one fixed dish
and
Titanium C LNB on a second fixed dish

on one receiver

I'm thinking of adding a 2nd fixed dish at my house and have a question about the above configuration. Can the four KU LNBs be Universal LNBs or do I have to change the KU LNBs to be all Standard LNBs? I'm not sure if the C LNB is like a Standard KU LNB and does not use a 22KHz tone as part of operation like a Universal KU LNB does. Also, what is the name of the port on the 0/22KHz switch that goes to the C LNB and the port that goes to the 4X1 DiSEqC for the four Universal KU LNBs? The wiring diagram photo is too small to be able to decipher the 0/22KHz switch port names. Thank you.

The switch is normally just named '0' or '22'. If the C band lnb is C band only it probably doesn't use the 22 khz signal and would ignore it. If you are using the '0' side for the 4 lnbs, you could add a second diseqc switch to the '22' side and use universal lnbs for those ports, because the universal lnbs require the 22 khz signal to switch to high range which is used here in the USA. Again this would only work if you are using a C band only lnb and not a C/Ku lnb. Some of the C/Ku lnbs use 22 khz to switch bands. Hope this helps.  E_V

The diagram from jbost only sends 1 Ku sat to reach receiver, which I would assume that the Ku lnbs are on different sats and not on the same one. However, his C band side looks good.  JMHO  E_V

Thanks but i got that from the boys over at SatelliteAV. Have not tried it yet, but looks like a good way to do 2 rooms with 2 sats.

Its hard to find a new switch diagram, we seem to have every which way to do it here in this thread.

Hey folks,

This is an open thread, so if you have a switch diagram not yet shown here, please share it.

Or if you need ideas for a switch set-up that is not shown here, just ask.

As long as your receiver can do committed (1.0) and uncommitted (1.1) commands at the same time then you should have no problems. You can either put (from the receiver) the 1.1 switch and then the 1.0 switch on port 1 of the 1.1 switch, or you can put (from the receiver) the 1.0 switch and then the 1.1 switch on port 1 of the 1.0 switch. The first options allows you to put other 4x1 1.0 switches on other ports of the 1.1 switch, whereas the second option allows you to put more 8x1 1.1 switches on the other ports of your 4x1 1.0 switch.

Your receiver should (though not always) allow you to send the commands either as uncommitted/committed (first option) or committed/uncommitted (second option), though if the receiver repeats the commands (which it should) then it shouldn't make any difference if it doesn't have the option to change the order of the commands. Of course, it all depends on the receiver you have. So, basically, try it and see which way works!

Hi Keith. I have the Manhattan rc1978 it has the 8x1/ 1.1 diesq with 16 ports available to select from. So was thinking of putting the 4x1/1.0 diseq on port 8 thinking that would make the first port on the 4x1 port 8 then second port/port 9 etc.....to 11 sats.  Is this correct. Thank you for your time.

No, it won't work that way. I don't have a Manhattan, but from a look at the user manual, it can be done in the Antenna Settings to turn on both 1.0 (committed, the 4x1 switch) and 1.1 (uncommitted, the 8x1) DiSEqC commands. First try putting the 4x1 on port 1 of the 8x1, then adding LNBs to ports 1 to 4. On those satellites, in the Antenna Settings you will need port 1 (1.1) and port 1 to 4 (1.0). You can leave all other 8x1 LNBs/Satellites settings as they currently are (1.1 only).
