Optibox Raptor HD Lite Review

Well i had the Optibox Raptor HD for several days now and i find this receiver

to be a top notch high quality product. video quality is equal to any receiver i have

tested so far. i give the Optibox Raptor HD a thumbsup.  

the Optibox Raptor HD does The Nashville Network HD with all the Luken channesl on 137ºW!

the 2 AMI channels on 107ºW, City tv on 111ºW, all the Luken channels on 87ºW without issues!

With my AzBox P+ & Optibox Raptor HD i have all i need for any fta situation.

I bought mine from Hyper a looong time ago and have really enjoyed the receiver and its capabilities.  If you have the time, try loading one of the HDMU or PKT Engima2 images on a usb stick.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised at all the possibilities.  Many plugins, IPTV, XBMC, swap file, overclocking, etc.  It truly is a testers stb.

More i use the Optibox Raptor better i like it. ftping the box was easy. the channel

edit program has a mind of it own any channels that has a no channel name.

example default SVC_5911 Service. when the edit is made and sent back to the Raptor

the Polar Edit Octagon program renames these channels with ramdom channel names.

other than that the Polar Edit Octagon program works fine. now i need to learn how

to add some plugins to the Raptor.

I've been playing with Enigma2 more than the native firmware, so I haven't used Polar Edit for a while. But if my memory serves me correctly, your renamed channel can remain static after uploading.  Just check and see that your newly named channel is set to TRUE under Channel Information>Renamed.

I've found Polar Edit to be one of the best editors out there compared to others offered for sat receivers.  It really shines when setting the channels and sat list.

Still using this receiver as my main receiver for feed hunting. this receiver is still

the best blind scan stb i have ever used & i have tested many... i did an upgrade

on my switching for multiple LNB/LNBF inputs to one receiver for C/band & Ku/band using a new

(Geosat Pro=GDSW81 8x1 DISEqC 1.1 Switch) i got from hypermegasat.com... you can view the

to anyone needing multiple LNB/LNBF inputs to one receiver... 

The Optibox Raptor HD work with this switch without any issues it was just plug & play..

Sure is nice to watch NasCar on AMC-9 C/band using the Optibox Raptor. i can use

the PIP to watch 1 feed with the correct audio in a PIP and see all the other

action in the other PIP...old day of NasCar i needed 2 receivers to do this....
