linkbox 8000 Block Mismatch error code

I recently purchased a linlbox 8000hd local. It appears to be in great shape but when I tried to load my channel list from my present 8000hd local i got the error message "Block Mismatch Can not upload. I did a factory reset on the new receiver and tried again with same error message. I was able to reload the old list back on it but my list won't work. On my old receiver I was able to load both lists fine but no luck on the new box. I checked the factory settings on both receivers and the versions were the same version numbers. Any ideas on this would certainly be appreciated. Thanks, Ernie

I would first do a factory reset on the new receiver > then load a fresh copy of the firmware to it by USB. (Same firmware as your old receiver would probably be the best firmware to load.)

Then try to load the channel list.

If that doesnt solve the issue, i dont know what to say since your old receiver loads both lists just fine.  


The only other thing to try would be the Erom Upgrade Tool (RS232)

I am fairly certain the Linkbox 8000 has an Ali chipset. If this information is correct, you will need to recover the receiver using a RS232 port if a channel list bricks or causes the receiver to quit working. It may be best to manually enter your channel information. "Block Mismatch Can not upload" does not sound good. The receiver may decide it wants to take a nap if you do manage to get that list loaded into it!

Thought of something else. It has been a looooong time since i owned a Linkbox 8000, so i am not sure this will work. But i was thinking maybe if you are able to back-up to USB the entire .abs file from the working receiver you can load it to the new receiver. Firmware, channel list, etc.. all in one. I am thinking maybe the "Allcode" option on the download by USB menu? Just cant remember if this gives you the full .abs file, but i think maybe it does? Worth a try anyway before resorting to RS232.
